All Pro-Ears electronic hearing protection use common "N size" 1.5 volt batteries. Use of any other size battery will void the warranty. To obtain a natural sound quality and power the DLSC™ technology, more power is required than many other electronic ear muffs. The Gold Series active hearing protectors have an auto shut-off feature which will help conserve battery power but you should still remember to turn PRO EARS off when not in use. Carry a spare set of batteries just in case.
